(Galatians 5:13) "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."
In “assisting parents in raising godly children”, probably the most important factor is coming to the realization of what it means to be “godly”. Jesus demonstrated this during His time on earth in the way that He served and loved others rather than demanding to be served. The greatest among us, He actually made Himself our servant! This is just amazing.
It is with this in mind that from preschool through 12th grade, and within our staff as well, that Siouxland Christian tries to humble ourselves and serve others. We realize community service is a vital part of who we are and who we want to become. Through prayer, physical labor, giving of our time and talents, collecting supplies, and donating money to the homeless, helping new church plants and at-risk students, and families on the other side of the world, we definitely hope that being Christ-like becomes more natural, taking less and less effort as we enjoy seeing the good done for others.
