As with all comprehensive schools, students at Siouxland Christian School participate in formative (homework, class discussions, quizzes) and summative (tests, final exams, projects) assessments on a regular basis. Additionally, all students in grades 2-11 participate in the Smarter Balanced Assessments required by the state of Iowa.
Tenth and eleventh grade students take the PSAT (Preliminary SAT, which measures the likelihood of success as a college freshman) each fall, and all students grades 10-12 are strongly encouraged to take the ACT (American College Testing, college admissions, acceptance/placement tool). We have also partner with the National Guard to provide the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude and Battery Test) which is not only utilized for military entrance, but to determine areas of strength with regard to academic and vocational/career interests (available to all students grades 10 – 12).
